The film depicts a day in the life of two very different police officers. Officer Will Shelley has relocated to Providence, South Carolina, a tiny town, and the police department with his expectant wife, Paige. On his first day of work, he works next to Officer Terry, a reckless and unpredictable man who knows every location in the vicinity that offers free coffee. Terry has an early morning meeting with his married girlfriend, but Will remains in the police cruiser until they receive a complaint of an attempted break-in. However, he interprets the code wrong, and as a result, a horrible accidental death occurs involving a woman. When Terry gets there, they discover a million-dollar basket inside.
